Thoughts #1: A Small Shrub on A Tree

It was a normal noon in my school, except almost everyone's home and only a few students were still there. I was sitting in front of a 9th grade class that, who knows, might be my future homeroom class. Scott Street was playing from my earphone. I was trying to read this book called Timeline by Michael Chrichton but the quiet scenery made it felt like a crime to not sit and just observe.

A small shrub on a tree planted in a burned clay pot caught my eye. It was bended over a little to the left; maybe it loves the wind so much it will still want the wind to blow gently into her branches even though it means her leaves will fall down and it'll have to grow differently. The solid, tough-looking tree with a trunk that looked like it was braided from the earth stood tall, just a little to my right. A small spider walked around in front of me before it ran away with some ants. I wonder how do they view the world.

The music changed. The wind blew again, softly shaking the branches of the big tree as if they were dancing to the song that was playing: the first movement of Hallelujah Junction by John Adams.

Maybe some songs weren't written or composed to be performed in front of a huge crowd. Maybe some songs were written and composed to be your company when suddenly it's quiet but not too quiet, when suddenly you feel whole and alive just because a tree distracted you from reading a novel.

Yep that wasn't a poem or something. I just had that thought yesterday but I was alone so maybe I'll just try to write it down. School's almost over and I'll probably gonna have two weeks off before 9th grade starts so I'll try to write more during those days (or I'll just rot in bed and watch movies lol). See ya later, have a good day!
